LUIS FILIPE SANTOS

Luis Filipe dos Santos graduated in 2003 with a degree in Industrial Design from the School of Arts and Design in Caldas da Rainha, Portugal. Over the years, he has established himself as a multidisciplinary designer and concept developer with a strong creative and strategic approach.

Throughout his career, Luis has successfully balanced solo work with collaboration in dynamic teams and studios, notably at the vibrant CAL DESIGN studio in Portugal, where he held the roles of Senior Designer and Partner.

His experience also extends into the cultural sector, where he contributed to major international exhibitions such as EXPERIMENTA DESIGN in Lisbon. He has consistently worked in multicultural environments, oversee- ing the design and/or production of exhibitions that have been recognized and praised by curators, critics, opinion leaders, and the general public alike.

Until 2016, Luis was part of the lead team behind the programme that led to Caldas da Rainha being designated a UNESCO Creative City in 2019. After this significant period, he left Portugal for a brief stay in Luxembourg before moving to the African continent to take on new challenges.

In 2018, he relocated to Dakar, Senegal, where he joined ATEPA & PARTNERS to develop design concepts and coordinate interior design for international projects, working closely with renowned firms such as JACOBS, JESA, ADVISION, MOSAIQUE, CGWIC, and DRFT.

Currently, Luis leads the design department at PRODESIGN ARCHITECTURE, where he is responsible for finishing materials prescriptions and overall design direction.
